There are three varietals from this cooperative of farms from Colombia: Castillo, Caturra, & Geisha
The Geisha is, of course, the rarified and exotic varietal that gets so much attention these days. And for good reason as we're getting some lovely blackberries and subtle Jasmine notes from this cup. At first sip, it feels like a very nice and balanced classic coffee from Central America. As you savor the flavor, the fruitiness and tea aroma becomes evident and lingers. Can we know for certain whether it's the Geisha that is the key contributor to this experience? We cannot say for sure. We leave that mystery for you to ponder with one of our favorites of the season.
